Hace mucho, mucho tiempo un hombre llamado Jack Bauer, defendía a su país de terroristas, presidentes malvados y cualquier tipo que no respetara los derechos humanos de la población americana. Ahora, vive exiliado en África, ayudando junto a su viejo amigo Carl Benton, a un grupo de niños africanos para que estos dispongan de un futuro mejor. Lo que el señor Bauer no sabía, es que vaya donde vaya nunca le dejarán tener una vida tranquila como a los demás. Señores y señoras, 24 ha vuelto, calentando motores para ese 11 de enero (fecha del estreno de su séptima temporada) y lo ha hecho cumpliendo con lo que se le podía pedir a esta precuela, llamada Redemption.
Destacar que pese a ser una película, la serie no ha dejado en el olvido su principal valuarte, la acción en tiempo real y es que la historia de Redemption se sitúa en entre las 3:00 y las 5:00 pm. En ella nos encontramos con un Jack Bauer exiliado y en medio del comienzo de un golpe de estado en Sengala (África) mientras que en USA, la presidenta electa del país, Allison Taylor, se dispone a jurar el cargo en medio de esta nueva crisis internacional. La verdad que la película ha cumplido perfectamente su cometido, pues ya sabemos como y por donde irán los tiros de la nueva historia, además de servir para presentar a algunos de los nuevos personajes que tendremos en la séptima temporada. A todo esto, hay que añadir que sobre todo ha servido para recordar que nadie patea culos mejor que como lo hace el señor Bauer.
La historia principal de esta precuela no ha sido ni sorprendente ni nada por el estilo, pues simplemente querían mostrarnos una nueva visión del personaje de Jack, mientras veíamos a la vez como en EE.UU. todo estaba cambiando. La película ha tenido todo lo que tiene un capítulo de la serie: acción a raudales, cadáveres, heroicidades y ese pequeño aroma a conspiración que se respira por cualquier costado en 24. Por lo tanto, he quedado sastifecho con Redemption y más viendo que fue todo un éxito en su emisión, pues pocas series pueden permitirse el lujo de estar casi 2 años fuera de parrilla y volver a lo grande reuniendo a unos 12 millones de espectadores.
Se nota que la gente tiene ganas de las aventuras de Jack Bauer & cia y a pesar de que cada vez queda menos para ese 11 enero, la FOX nos ha puesto en forma de cebo los primeros 17 minutos de la séptima temporada de 24 y yo particularmente he picado. Nunca tan poco, me había puesto los dientes tan largos...por ello, dejo el video para todos los que quieran ir abriendo boca antes de que empiece a rodar el séptimo día más largo en la vida de Jack Bauer...
